On July 21, 2020, the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) launched the Spanish version of the book “ICT as a Strategic Tool to Enhance Efficiency of the Tax Administrations”. It had been available since March in English.

The book arises from CIAT’s cooperation with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with the aim of serving as a reference on the use of information technologies to improve the capacity and effectiveness of tax administrations, especially in developing countries.

It has more than 500 pages, distributed in sixteen thematic chapters.

At IDEATI, we share the satisfaction of this publication, celebrating that one of our members, Martín Irigaray, has participated as a co-author in its preparation.

Taking advantage of his experience of more than 15 years in the field of technology and participation in various international projects with Tax Administrations, he is one of the co-authors of Chapter 12. Systems architecture and ICT infrastructure alternatives.

In this chapter, approaches to intelligent solutions for aspects such as Architecture, Scalability and Interoperation of computer systems are described.

In these times of large volumes of data, the concepts of Data Governance are presented, a very important model for the treatment and secrecy of this information.

In this article, Martín gives us a introduction to the topics that we will find in that chapter.

The book is available for free download on the most popular distribution media: Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Scribd.

We appreciate the opportunity provided by CIAT, and we invite our visitors to download such an important reference contribution for every Tax Administration in particular, but very applicable to any Institution in the modernization process.
